Week 8 is an exciting week not only for fans of great SEC West matchups, as there are three excellent games set to be played this weekend, but for the analytic nerds who frequent Brian Fremeau’s BCF Toys website. The reason being? All results moving forward no longer factor in preseason data, only the data from the games played this season are taken into account.

With that being said, Fremeau’s latest set of FEI analytic projections have been released on his BCF Toys site. If you are interested in how these predictions are calculated, per the site: ‘FEI Game Projections are calculated as a function of the current FEI rating of each team, an adjustment for home field advantage, and the projected scoring pace of the game.’

Without diving deep into the one game against FCS competition (Vanderbilt vs. Tennessee State), here is how Fremeau’s site BCF Toys, projects each remaining SEC contest going in Week 8:

  • Missouri is projected to beat Middle Tennessee State by a score of 26-25. The Tigers have a win likelihood of 55 percent.
  • South Carolina is projected to beat UMass by a score of 27-14. The Gamecocks have a win likelihood of 79 percent.
  • Mississippi State is projected to beat Kentucky by a score of 32-19. The Bulldogs have a win likelihood of 79 percent.
  • Ole Miss is projected to beat LSU by a score of 26-25. The Rebels have a win likelihood of 54 percent.
  • Auburn is projected to beat Arkansas by a score of 34-19. The Tigers have a win likelihood of 85 percent.
  • Alabama is projected to beat Texas A&M by a score of 28-19. The Crimson Tide have a win likelihood of 74 percent.

One note for Arkansas fans, the analytics crowd continues to be unimpressed with the Razorbacks – despite the impressive win over Ole Miss last weekend. The Razorbacks rank No. 39 overall in the FEI rankings while Auburn ranks as the No. 11 team. However, a silver lining for fans of Hog Nation, Ole Miss currently ranks as the No. 10 team and ranked as the No. 6 team last week before losing to Arkansas.
