Which college football teams managed Saturday’s 25 best performances?

Editor’s note: This is not a real poll and is a ranking of teams based on Saturday’s results only. Teams on bye weeks are not ranked. We’ve included the actual Week 14 AP Top 25 for comparison.

Here’s how the AP TOP 25 should’ve looked based on Week 13 performances ONLY

1. ALABAMA — Surprisingly, the Crimson Tide go into the Iron Bowl banged up after a physical win over Western Carolina. Alabama’s clicking on both sides of the ball as one of the nation’s hottest teams.

2. MISSISSIPPI STATE — You want game control? The Bulldogs dominated Vanderbilt from start to finish and are off to their best seven-game start to SEC play in school history. A win in the Egg Bowl next week should keep Mississippi State’s No. 4 spot in the Playoff rankings.

3. ARKANSAS — College football’s best last-place team, ever? You could make a solid case for a team that’s blanked back-to-back ranked opponents, lost by a point to Alabama and a touchdown to Mississippi State. Bret Bielema has the Hogs running wild. Mizzou’s next.

4. OREGON

5. UCLA — The Bruins disposed of USC to win their fifth straight game in the Pac-12.

6. MIZZOU — Gary Pinkel’s team won for the 10th straight time on the road, taking care of Tennessee to stay out front in the SEC East.

7. MICHIGAN STATE

8. ARIZONA — A blowout win at Utah was one of the more impressive wins this season for Rich Rodriguez’s Wildcats.

9. BAYLOR — It wasn’t pretty at times thanks to a big play-ridden secondary, but the Bears stayed in the College Football Playoff picture with a three-touchdown win over Oklahoma State.

10. FLORIDA STATE — Give the Seminoles credit: They keep winning no matter how unimpressive it may look. This is where game control comes into play for the only remaining Power 5 unbeaten.

11. GEORGIA — Nick Chubb and Co. made quick work of Charleston Southern as the cupcake tuneup before this week’s hate game against the Yellow Jackets.

12. ARIZONA STATE

13. WISCONSIN

14. KANSAS STATE

15. OHIO STATE — If there’s such thing as a bad win, this was it for the Buckeyes against Indiana.

16. LOUISVILLE — Winning in South Bend’s no easy feat, but Louisville got it done thanks to a 32-yard missed field goal in the final minute of the game.

17. CLEMSON

18. AUBURN — What’s happened to the Tigers? Auburn played a tougher-than-expected game against Samford as Nick Marshall was held to negative rushing yards for the first time in his career on the Plains.

19. MARSHALL

20. NORTH CAROLINA — The Tar Heels became bowl eligible last Thursday night with a humiliating win in Durham that pushed arch-rival Duke out of the ACC Championship Game.

21. MARYLAND

22. ILLINOIS

23. FRESNO STATE

24. WAKE FOREST — A laughable, scoreless game in regulation went to double overtime and the Demon Deacons prevailed. Give Wake Forest credit for beating Virginia Tech and notching its first ACC win of the season.

25. VIRGINIA — Mike London may have saved his job with a home win over Miami. Now, the Cavaliers can become bowl eligible if they beat Virginia Tech.
