The Missouri Tigers gave the Georgia Bulldogs a bit of a scare on Saturday night in Athens, hanging with the nation’s No. 4 team for most of the first half.

At one point, the score was 21-21 following QB Drew Lock’s second-straight 63-yard bomb to WR Emanuel Hall.

However, the Bulldogs eventually outclassed the Tigers, pulling away in the second half for an easy 53-28 victory to improve to 7-0 on the season.

After the game, Mizzou coach Barry Odom was clearly impressed with the atmosphere at Georgia, complimenting Kirby Smart by saying that’s what he’s trying to build with his own program:

Obviously, the Tigers have a long way to go if they want to be on the same level as the Bulldogs, but keep in mind that Mizzou made it to back-to-back SEC Championship Games in 2013 and 2014.

Odom has a lot of work to do to get the Tigers back to that level, but with Smart providing an excellent blueprint in Athens, it’s not impossible.
