There are tons of reasons why college football fans love College GameDay. A few things that come to mind immediately are the clever signage, the heart-warming stories, and of course Lee Corso and his headgear.

More and more, people have started to tune in specifically to see the College GameDay celebrity guest picker. Toward the last segment of the show, when the analysts are about to make their predictions on the day’s games, they bring out a famous person who usually is associated with the university that is hosting GameDay.

(There are some exceptions to that, like Katy Perry, who doesn’t personally have any connection to Ole Miss. But apparently her manager went there, so it counts?)

It’s entertaining to watch various musicians, actors and military personnel explain the reasoning behind their predictions. It’s also exciting to watch famous alumni, former players and coaches come back onto the campus to the roar of welcoming cheers.

Naturally, the question has to be asked: Who would be the best possible College GameDay celebrity guest picker for each school in the SEC? Here is a list of who we think those could be.

ALABAMA

Guest Picker: Greg McElroy

Since Joe Namath already has taken his turn as a GameDay guest picker, we turn to Greg McElroy. His name is well known in Tuscaloosa, as he was the quarterback who led Alabama to a 14-0 season, an SEC championship, and a victory in the 2010 BCS National Championship. McElroy’s time in the NFL was short, but he currently serves as an analyst on SEC Network. His return to campus, however brief, would be welcomed by Crimson Tide fans.

ARKANSAS

Guest Picker: Jimmy Johnson

Availability could be an issue, since he does his own football analysis on Sundays, but this former defensive end for the Razorbacks would be a huge hit on GameDay. Not only would Jimmy Johnson obviously know his stuff and make educated predictions, but he would immediately chum it up with the GameDay analysts since they’re from the same professional world. We’d also love to see his reaction when Corso dons the headgear.

AUBURN

Guest Picker: Tim Cook

We take a sharp turn away from the football world with this Auburn alumus. Tim Cook is currently the CEO of Apple, so it feels doubtful that he’d have room in his schedule to sit down and make some college football predictions. However, he seems like he’d be a good sport about it if he was asked. Coming on College GameDay could also be an unconventional promotion tool for Apple, since new Apple phones or gadgets tend to be released in the fall during football season. He could make his picks via his Apple Watch or something.

FLORIDA

Guest Picker: Abby Wambach

Many decorated athletes are graduates of the University of Florida, but deciding which of them would be the best possible guest was a no brainer. Fresh off her 2015 Women’s World Cup win, Abby Wambach visiting the College GameDay set would be sensational. Bonus points if she also brings the World Cup trophy with her.

GEORGIA

Guest Picker: Alton Brown

To shake things up and add some flavor to the show, Georgia graduate and celebrity chef Alton Brown would both draw in viewers and bring food for the crew. There’s so much College GameDay could do with a chef as the guest — a tailgating-done-right segment or a part where Brown creates a Georgia-themed snack. He could even make the crew do some sort of food-related contest. Maybe who can build a sandwich the fastest, or design the best burger.

KENTUCKY

Guest Picker: Ashley Judd

Actress Ashley Judd loves her school fiercely. If you doubt this, you can refer to the photos that went viral of her cheering on the Wildcats basketball team during the NCAA Tournament. It would logically follow that she’d jump at the chance to also show her solidarity with her football team if College GameDay ever travels back to Lexington. It’d be her opportunity to show her doubters once and for all that she is a true fan.

LSU

Guest Picker: James Carville

Politics, sports, and personality blend perfectly together in the form of LSU alumnus James Carville, a political commentator on Fox News. While a majority of his career has been in the political arena, for a time he did co-host a weekly radio show called “60/20 Sports.” Plus, sports is always used as analogies in politics. Carville would make his predictions with confidence and support his decisions with lively debate.

MISSISSIPPI STATE

Guest Picker: John Grisham

This best-selling novelist went to MSU for his bachelor’s degree, but went to Ole Miss for his law degree. If GameDay traveled to Starkville for the Egg Bowl, he would be perfect. Grisham also is no stranger to the world of sports. He has written about baseball multiple times, and supports Little League in Mississippi and Virginia. There is a good chance he has some college football knowledge as well.

MISSOURI

Guest Picker: Sheryl Crow

College GameDay loves country music stars, so Sheryl Crow would fit right in. She got her bachelor’s degree from Missouri and then went on to sell more than 50 million albums worldwide. Crow has nine Grammy Awards to her name, and been nominated 32 times. While Crow doesn’t have quite the star power as Katy Perry, and she would also come without flying corndogs or giant pencils. And probably wouldn’t rip Corso’s headgear off.

OLE MISS

Guest Picker: Archie Manning

Archie Manning is a legend at Ole Miss. His jersey number was retired, he was named Mississippi Sportsman of the Year, and inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1989. More recently, he’s come back to the college football community by being on the College Football Playoff committee. While he has stepped down from that position, it would be interesting to see if he could give us any insider information on what being on the committee is like. It would also be great just to see him back on campus again.

SOUTH CAROLINA

Guest Picker: Sidney Rice

In just two years at South Carolina, wide receiver Sidney Rice broke a bunch of USC records. He still holds the school record for number of touchdowns in a game and in a season. It took Alshon Jeffery three years to tie Rice’s record for number of touchdowns in a career. Rice was drafted in the second round, and played in the NFL for seven years. Now he’s retired, which means it’s a perfect time for him to return to Columbia and once again represent the Gamecocks.

TEXAS A&M

Guest Picker: Johnny Manziel

Unlike the other former players on this list, Johnny Football is not retired from the NFL yet. However, if we’re staying in our world of the ideal, the best possible celebrity guest for the Aggies has to be Manziel. Not only would 12th Men everywhere love to see him back on campus, but this would be the perfect time for a pre-football Saturday drinking game. Every time you see Manziel throw up the cash-money sign… (Yes, we know he promised to retire it.)

TENNESSEE

Guest Picker: Phillip Fulmer

Former coaches have come to College GameDay before, so Phillip Fulmer would be a great choice for Tennessee. Fulmer dedicated 28 years of his coaching career to the Volunteers, starting back in 1980 as an offensive line coach and working his way up. As head coach, he led the Volunteers to five SEC championship games, three SEC conference titles, and one national championship.

VANDERBILT

Guest Picker: Dierks Bentley

A 1997 Vanderbilt graduate, Dierks Bentley is now a successful country music singer and songwriter, which means he’s right up College GameDay’s ally. Since his music was first released in 2003, he’s had two certified platinum albums, one certified gold, and 13 singles that have hit No. 1 on the country music charts. Bentley could be the factor that tops Vanderbilt’s last GameDay visit, when Kenny Chesney was the celebrity guest.
