National championship games from the SEC’s seven-year national title streak are just some of the best SEC bowl games of the last decade. The high-scoring New Year’s Eve Chick-fil-A Bowl between Texas A&M and Duke, and the South Carolina-Michigan matchup in the Outback Bowl including Jadeveon Clowney’s bone-jarring hit are others on the following list (year listed is for regular season):

2010 BCS National Championship — Auburn 22, Oregon 19: RB Michael Dyer’s improbable run — when it appeared the play would be blown dead — setup a short, game-clinching field goal. The title was Auburn’s first since 1957 and extended the SEC’s title streak to five straight. DL Nick Fairley and the Auburn defense shut out Oregon in the first and third quarters as QB Darron Thomas passed for 363 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.

2007 BCS National Championship — LSU 38, Ohio State 24: QB Matt Flynn threw four TD passes and Ohio State’s struggles in big games against the SEC continued. In a season of upsets, LSU claimed the top spot over Georgia, Kansas State and Southern Cal. At familiar surroundings in the Superdome, LSU became the first school to win two titles in the BCS era. LSU overcame two triple-overtime losses as Ohio State dropped to 0-9 in bowl games against the SEC.

2011 BCS National Championship — Alabama 21, LSU 0: Alabama avenged an earlier 9-6 loss to LSU as its defense held the Tigers to 92 yards and five first downs. It was Alabama’s second BCS title in three years and first shutout in the history of the BCS. Alabama QB A.J. McCarron was the game’s offensive MVP, completing 23 of 34 passes for 234 yards.

2008 BCS National Championship — Florida 24, Oklahoma 14: In a meeting of Heisman Trophy winners, Florida QB Tim Tebow outplayed Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford. Though just 18 for 30 passing, with two TDs and two interceptions, Tebow made the difference with conversions of critical plays. The win gave Florida its second BCS title in three years. Tebow had help from Percy Harvin, who rushed for 122 yards on nine carries. The game also drew criticism of the postseason format and even President-elect Barack Obama called for a playoff system.

2013 Chick-fil-A Bowl — Texas A&M 52, Duke 48: Johnny Manziel’s final college game proved to be an instant classic as the Aggies came from down 38-17 at halftime. Manziel rolled up 455 offensive yards and five TDs, completing 30 of 38 passes. Duke led by 10 points entering the fourth quarter. But QB Anthony Boone’s two interceptions overshadowed 427 passing yards and three TDs.

2010 Cotton Bowl — LSU 41, Texas A&M 24: With rumors swirling about Les Miles leaving for Michigan, the Tigers used three TD passes from Jordan Jefferson to Terrence Toliver to complete an 11-2 season. It was the 50th game between the schools, but first since 1995. Texas A&M led 10-0 early, but two Ryan Tannehill interceptions helped bring LSU back.

2007 Chick-fil-A Bowl — Auburn 23, Clemson 20, OT: Freshman QB Kodi Burns sealed the win in overtime as the Tigers seemingly had their new starting quarterback as a new no-huddle attack caused problems for Clemson’s defense. Auburn overcame the “Thunder and Lightning” duo of C.J. Spiller and James Davis, who combined for 184 yards and two scores.

2012 Outback Bowl — South Carolina 33, Michigan 28: Known most for Jadeveon Clowney’s helmet-popping hit on RB Vincent Smith, the game saw the Gamecocks use a two-quarterback system with Connor Shaw and Dylan Thompson, who combined for four TDs. The Gamecocks overcame Michigan QB Devin Gardner, who had three TDs, and 100 rushing yards from Denard Robinson.

2007 Sugar Bowl — Georgia 41, Hawaii 10: QB Colt Brennan and the undefeated Warriors didn’t stand a chance against the Bulldogs, who felt they deserved to play for the national championship. Georgia led 14-3 after the first quarter and 24-3 at halftime.Brennan was sacked five times with a fumble and interception by halftime. Georgia set a school bowl record for scoring.
