There’s nothing quite better than when your college football team claims victory in a game it wasn’t expected to win.

Below is a look at some of the best upsets by each school since the turn of the century.

Because some programs are perpetually one of the top ranked teams in the country, they don’t get as many chances to notch what is considered a major upset.

What’s your favorite upset of the 21st century?

Alabama

Date: Aug. 31, 2008
Result: The Crimson Tide beat No. 9 Clemson 34-10 in Atlanta.
Details: Finding a true upset win during this time period is tough for Alabama. The Crimson Tide didn’t have many wins against superior opponents under Dennis Franchione or Mike Shula, and they have rarely been an underdog under Nick Saban. We’ll go with a season-opening demolition of a top 10 Clemson squad coming after a rough first season under Saban in 2007. Alabama beat No. 3 Georgia in Athens later that season, but by then the Crimson Tide was ranked No. 8.

Arkansas

Date: Nov. 24, 2007
Result: Arkansas defeated No. 1 LSU, 50-48, in triple overtime.
Details: The Razorbacks knocked off the nation’s top team in a triple-overtime thriller in Death Valley. RB Darren McFadden ran for 206 yards against the eventual BCS national champions to help the Razorbacks finish the season 8-4.

Auburn

Date: Oct. 13, 2001
Result: Auburn beat No. 1 Florida, 23-20.
Details: A fourth-quarter interception of Florida QB Rex Grossman by LB Karlos Dansby set up a game-winning drive for the unranked Tigers. Damon Duval hit a 44-yard field goal with 10 seconds remaining to claim the upset win on The Plains.

Florida

Date: Nov. 1, 2014
Result: Gators defeated No. 11 Georgia, 38-20, in Jacksonville.
Details: Typically the team fending off an upset in recent decades, the downtrodden Gators played the role of underdog well last season, rallying behind Will Muschamp to beat his alma mater for the first time in his final year as Florida’s coach. The Gators derailed Georgia’s SEC Championship Game plans with 418 rushing yards.

Georgia

Date: Nov. 11, 2006
Result: Bulldogs beat No. 5 Auburn, 37-15, at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Details: In a season that included a home loss to Vanderbilt for the defending SEC champions, things were not going well for the unranked Bulldogs heading into the Auburn game in November of  2006. But things clicked that day, as Georgia jumped out to a 30-7 lead and never looked back.

Kentucky

Date: Oct. 14, 2007
Result: Wildcats defeat No. 1 LSU, 43-37, in triple overtime.
Details: Though listed second in this post behind Arkansas, the Wildcats were actually the first team to defeat eventual national champion LSU in 2007. Andre Woodson found Stevie Johnson for the game-winning touchdown, and Braxton Kelley madea stop on the final play of the game will forever be a happy memory for Kentucky fans.

LSU

Date: Dec. 8, 2001
Result: Tigers beat No. 2 Tennessee, 31-20, to win SEC Championship.
Details: Nick Saban’s Tigers played the role of spoiler well that day. The three-loss LSU team went into the SEC championship as a significant underdog to Phillip Fulmer’s Tennessee team that was poised for a trip to the BCS National Championship Game with a win, but LSU left Atlanta with a double-digit victory and a trophy.

Mississippi State

Date: Oct. 23, 2004
Result: Bulldogs beat No. 20 Florida, 38-31, in Starkville.
Details: The Bulldogs have beaten some higher-ranked opponents since 2000, but this was truly a major upset in the first year of Sylvester Croom’s tenure. Mississippi State was 1-5 on the season and had won just six of its last 31 contests prior to putting up 38 points on the nationally-ranked Gators.

Missouri

Date: Oct. 24, 2010
Result: Tigers beat No. 1 Oklahoma, 36-27, in Columbia.
Details: A 16-point fourth quarter helped Gary Pinkel claim his first win in seven tries against Oklahoma. It propelled Missouri to 7-0 record and placed the Tigers atop the Big 12 standings.

Ole Miss

Date: Sept. 28, 2008
Result: Rebels beat No. 7 Florida, 31-30, in Gainesville.
Details: A 22-point underdog entering the game, the Rebels stuffed Tim Tebow twice in a short-yardage situation to cause a turnover on downs in Ole Miss territory and escape The Swamp with an upset victory. The post-game fallout led to the famous Tebow speech, and the Gators went on to win a national championship.

South Carolina

Date: Sept. 9, 2000
Result: Gamecocks defeat No. 10 Georgia, 21-10
Details: Coming off an 0-11 season in 1999, the Gamecocks gave notice to the rest of the SEC that they were a new team under Lou Holtz by knocking off a top 10 Georgia team at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Tennessee

Date: Sept. 26, 2005
Result: Tennessee beat No. 4 LSU, 30-27, in overtime at Tiger Stadium.
Details: The Vols used LSU transfer QB Rick Clausen to overcome a 21-0 halftime deficit, forcing overtime and eventually winning there on a touchdown run by Gerald Riggs on third-and-goal. Though they were thought to be a national contender at the time, the Vols only won five games that season and failed to go to a bowl for the first time in Phillip Fulmer’s tenure.

Texas A&M

Date: Nov. 10, 2012
Result: Aggies defeated No. 1 Alabama, 29-24, in Tuscaloosa
Details: Johnny Manziel already was on the map as a freshman star, but this is the game that made him a household name after pushing the Aggies to an early three-touchdown lead. Deshazor Everett intercepted Alabama QB AJ McCarron in the game’s final minutes to secure the win.

Vanderbilt

Date: Oct. 21, 2007
Result:
Vanderbilt defeated No. 6 South Carolina, 17-6, in Columbia.
Details:
After 15 tries, the Commodores finally notched their first win against head coach Steve Spurrier. In the process, they beat the highest-ranked team a Vanderbilt team had defeated in more than 70 years. The Commodores would go on to beat Spurrier’s Gamecocks again in 2008.
