What fun would college football be if no one cared about payback? None.

Fortunately for us, each SEC team does. Revenge is sweet, and we know some teams who are ready to taste it.

Here are the biggest revenge games for every team in the SEC West in 2016:

ALABAMA AT OLE MISS

Date: Sept. 17

Location: Vaught-Hemingway Stadium

Last Year: Ole Miss 43, Alabama 37

Alabama has fallen to Ole Miss in two consecutive seasons. And in those two seasons, they were the Tide’s only regular season losses. Last year, Alabama turned the ball over five times as playing time was split between QBs Cooper Bateman and Jake Coker. Rebels QB Chad Kelly had a monster game, and he’ll be back in 2016 to tear up the SEC. The boys in crimson have a shot at the 2016 national title, but it’ll be a tough sell to get to the playoff again if they lose three in a row to the Rebels.

ARKANSAS VS. TEXAS A&M

Date: Sept. 24

Location: AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (neutral site)

Last Year: Texas A&M 28, Arkansas 21

There’s a reason this game is being held at a neutral location. This has always been a big game for both sides. The Hogs dominated the time of possession in the 2015 meeting, but the Aggies made quick work behind QB Kyle Allen and WR Christian Kirk. Texas A&M’s touchdown and successful 2-point try with under three minutes left resulted in overtime, where the Aggies took advantage and put away the Razorbacks. The Hogs may have lost some big players for 2016, but the rest of the team and the coaches won’t forget so easily. You can bet they’ll be coming into AT&T Stadium with an obvious purpose.

AUBURN AT ALABAMA

Date: Nov. 26

Location: Bryant-Denny Stadium

Last Year: Alabama 29, Auburn 13

This is always going to be a revenge game for somebody, and in 2016, it’s the Tigers who are seeking revenge. Last year, Alabama pulled away from Auburn in a 29-13 win. The Tide has beaten the Tigers the last two seasons, and Auburn is ready to take back the state title. But it won’t be that easy. Alabama is predicted to win the SEC West again, while Auburn faces tough opponents on the road in the latter part of its schedule and is expected to remain in the bottom half of the conference in 2016.

LSU VS. ALABAMA

Date: Nov. 5

Location: Tiger Stadium

Last Year: Alabama 30, LSU 16

In 2015, the Tide dismantled the LSU offense and then-Heisman frontrunner Leonard Fournette. The last time the Tigers beat Alabama was in 2011. The Tide got its opportunity for payback earlier than usual, getting a rematch in the BCS National Championship Game later that season, and it wasn’t wasted. Les Miles’ inability to remain competitive against the Tide is a huge reason that he was on the chopping block last year. So this season, Miles is in need of the win, and there’s no doubt LSU is hungry for it.

MISSISSIPPI STATE AT OLE MISS

Date: Nov. 26

Location: Vaught-Hemingway Stadium

Last Year: Ole Miss 38, Mississippi State 27

Just like the Iron Bowl, the Egg Bowl is always a revenge game for someone. And in 2015, Bulldogs QB Dak Prescott may have been First-Team All-SEC, but it was his All-SEC backup Chad Kelly who stole the show. Kelly and the Rebels got off to a quick start, scoring three touchdowns in the first quarter while holding the Bulldogs scoreless. Mississippi State tried to stage a comeback, but it wasn’t enough in the end. The Bulldogs want their revenge, but it won’t be easy getting past Kelly, who is the favorite for First-Team All-SEC in 2016.

OLE MISS AT ARKANSAS

Date: Oct. 15

Location: Razorback Stadium

Last Year: Arkansas 53, Ole Miss 52

This 2015 matchup never had a clear leader. Neither team could pull ahead by more than a touchdown at a time, but boy did Hogs QB Brandon Allen bring his A-game. Allen became one of just five SEC quarterbacks to throw for more than 400 yards and 6 touchdowns in a single game, but what was even more memorable about this game: the crazy lateral that took Arkansas into scoring position. The Hogs were facing 4th-and-25, when some lucky fumble recoveries and an unplanned lateral assisted the Razorbacks in getting their much-needed first down. The Rebels were robbed, and they’ve been waiting for this game since Nov. 7.

TEXAS A&M AT AUBURN

Date: Sept. 17

Location: Jordan-Hare Stadium

Last Year: Auburn 26, Texas A&M 10

The score may not show it, but this was probably Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin’s worst loss in his tenure at Texas A&M. Auburn won two SEC games last season, including this one, and the other was over Kentucky. That doesn’t look good on the Aggies’ 2015 résumé. It was a satisfying win for Auburn, which fell to Texas A&M in a heartbreaking 41-38 loss in 2014. There’s a lot on the line for this game in 2016. Both Sumlin and Tigers head coach Gus Malzahn are under scrutiny, and both teams are struggling to become relevant again in the SEC West.
