The Louisville Cardinals reportedly fired coach Bobby Petrino on Sunday morning, bringing to an end his tenure with the program that has lasted since 2014.

However, we’ll understand if you don’t want to feel too bad for the former Arkansas coach, as he’ll receive a massive buyout on his way out of Louisville.

According to the USA TODAY database of coaching salaries, Petrino is set to receive a buyout of $14,056,250 as part of his severance.

That’s quite a chunk of change for a coach who has gone 2-8 this year and is coming off a 54-23 loss to Syracuse this week.

Petrino did put up a solid record during his time at Louisville, though, posting a 77-35 mark (including his 2003-2006 stint with the program) and going 1-3 in four bowl games the past five years.
