The Southeastern Conference has had a terrific run of quarterbacks in recent seasons and the success of the league’s former signal-callers looks to be showcased next week during the 2020 NFL Draft as the likes of Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, Jake Fromm and Jalen Hurts could all be selected early in the process.

While Hurts obviously finished out his college career at Oklahoma, he’ll always have a place in Alabama football lore as one of the toughest quarterbacks to ever suit up in Tuscaloosa with off-the-chart leadership abilities.

Those qualities are likely two traits that have impressed NFL teams this offseason as they study college signal-callers leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft and according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, two teams to watch when it comes to the former Oklahoma and Alabama quarterback appear to be Green Bay and San Diego.

“Two interesting teams who have been in touch with and monitoring #OU QB Jalen Hurts: The #Packers and the #Chargers. Both had meetings set up with him and have done virtual calls,” Rapoport shared. “Both have a veteran (of varying degrees) in as the starter and are expected to look to the future.”

That wasn’t all Rapoport had to say on Tuesday morning in regards to former SEC quarterbacks.

According to the NFL insider, Burrow appears to be a lock for the top selection in the draft and Jake Fromm may be rising up the draft boards as we inch closer to the draft.

“I have not talked to one team that doesn’t have #LSU’s Joe Burrow No. 1 overall,” Rapoport added. “#UGA QB Jake Fromm is buzzing because of his interviews & he’s a favorite of QB coaches.”

While it may seem unlikely, there’s an outside chance all four quarterbacks are selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, depending on the level of interest these teams actually have in these players.
