The new AP Top 25 will arrive on Monday. After Tennessee’s 86-69 loss at Kentucky, there will be a change at No. 1. One prominent college hoops analyst has shared his new No. 1 team.

Gary Parrish of CBS Sports updated his “Top 25 And 1” Sunday. He slides Tennessee down to No. 4, but keeps Kentucky at No. 6. Here’s his top six:

  • No. 1 – Gonzaga
  • No. 2 – Duke
  • No. 3 –Virginia
  • No. 4 – Tennessee
  • No. 5 – Michigan
  • No. 6 – Kentucky

Parrish is aware Wildcats fans won’t be happy with his ranking for UK:

So it’s Gonzaga No. 1, Duke No. 2, Virginia No. 3, Tennessee No. 4 and Michigan No. 5 — which I know will have Kentucky fans all up in my Twitter mentions. But I mostly rank resumes. And I simply do not believe Kentucky — with a 34-point loss to Duke, a neutral-court loss to Seton Hall, a road loss to Alabama and a home loss to LSU — has a better resume than any of the five schools I have ranked ahead of the Wildcats.

LSU, which beat Kentucky earlier in the week and defeated Georgia on Saturday, stays put at No. 16 in Parrish’s rankings.
