There may be a different team representing the SEC East in Atlanta this year if several CBS Sports experts are correct with their predictions.

Three experts picked Florida to knock off Georgia and make it to Atlanta to face Alabama, which would mean there’s two new teams playing for the championship from 2019. Still, four of their colleagues picked Georgia to continue its recent dominance of the SEC East. The writers had those teams each atop the East, but Alabama was a unanimous selection to win the West after it was knocked off by LSU last season.

“Georgia’s defense is stellar and will keep the Bulldogs in every game,” Barrett Sallee wrote. “There’s no doubt about that. But will that offense be consistent enough to put Georgia in the College Football Playoff? Not a chance.”

Sallee went a step further and added that, “Florida’s Kyle Trask will lead the SEC in passing en route to the SEC East title and a berth in the SEC Championship Game.”

Sallee was joined in picking Florida with Dennis Dodd and Ben Kercheval, who also wrote that, “Similar to Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts, Bryce Young will eventually be thrust into the spotlight at Alabama even though Mac Jones starts the season as QB1.”
