The next edition of the College Football Playoff rankings are set to be released soon and there are plenty of predictions abound before the official list comes out.

College football analyst Dennis Dodd recently released his third CFP poll predictions, identifying 2 teams he believes are in the best position to crack field. Here’s a look at where each of them stand, according to Dodd.

1. Georgia
2. Ohio State
3. TCU
4. Michigan
5. Tennessee

“Georgia and Tennessee might be in the best two positions,” Dodd said in his tweet. “Georgia can “afford” a loss. Tennessee knows at least one of the top four is going to lose and it has a favorable schedule.”

It seems widely agreed upon at this point that Georgia will the top seed headed into postseason action with Ohio State behind it, though opinions start to split off some after that. Tennessee has made a strong case for itself, though there are some concerns the committee could favor TCU or USC to push the Vols out all together.

Regardless, this will be something to watch shake out in a rare year in which Alabama is not in the mix.
