The Indianapolis Colts announced two roster moves Friday, both of which involve former Southeastern Conference standout performers.

New to the roster in Indianapolis will be former Mississippi State defensive lineman Josh Boyd. The former Bulldog began his professional career in Green Bay, following his fifth round selection in the 2013 NFL Draft. Boyd has made four starts and appeared in 26 games total in his professional career. Boyd registered 125 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and 18 tackles-for-loss during his four-year career in Starkville.

In order to make room for Boyd on the roster, the Colts cut ties with former Volunteer Curt Maggitt. Maggitt received an injury settlement from the team after being released. An undrafted rookie in 2016, Maggitt appeared in nine games for the Colts last season, mostly on special teams. Unfortunately, his debut NFL season ended as many of his seasons did in Knoxville — on injured reserve.

The former Tennessee hybrid defender missed the majority of the 2012 season and the entire 2013 after suffering an ACL tear during his sophomore campaign on Rocky Top. The injury bug struck Maggitt once again during his senior season, as a hip injury cost him cost him nearly his entire 2015 season. Maggitt had a breakout season in 2014, registering 11 sacks and 15 tackles-for-loss playing opposite freshman Derek Barnett.
