LSU and Florida both like to claim the title of “DBU,” based on their belief that they’re country’s best defensive backs. Tigers and Gators endlessly debate which team deserves the title on social media, and sometimes players themselves get involved, but on Friday, there’s no sign of bitterness.

The New York Jets have united a pair of defensive backs from the two schools with their early picks. The Jets took former LSU S Jamal Adams at No. 6 on Thursday, and decided to further bolster their secondary by taking former Florida S Marcus Maye at No. 39.

Adams appears eager to play alongside his former rival, and dubbed the duo “unfair” for NFC offenses in a tweet to Maye.

Adams and Maye had different paths to the Big Apple. Adams left after three years while Maye returned to Florida for a redshirt senior season at UF in 2016.
