College GameDay analyst Desmond Howard agreed to a multiyear extension to remain at ESPN, the outlet released Tuesday.

Howard has been a member of College GameDay since he joined ESPN in 2005, and he’s not going anywhere on Saturday mornings now. In addition to College GameDay, he will also continue with “College Football Live” and calling some mid-week games during the season.

“I am both excited and reflective as I embark upon my 13th season with ESPN,” said Howard in a release. “When I transitioned from playing the game to talking about it for a living, I could not have landed on a better team than College GameDay, where I’ve been fortunate to learn from and grow with some of the very best in this industry.

Likewise, I consider myself lucky to be able to travel the country throughout the fall and be surrounded by so many die-hard college football fans who gather together to help us create a uniquely electric atmosphere every Saturday morning… Is it August yet?”

While Howard may not be the most popular analyst on the show, he is still a powerful voice who dominated college football and excelled in the NFL. Howard, of course, won the Heisman Trophy at Michigan in 1991, and he went on to become the MVP of Super Bowl XXXI (1997) and a Pro Bowl selection (2000).

Howard accomplished a bunch during his playing days, and staying on with College GameDay means his voice will be heard for years to come.

“The name Desmond Howard is synonymous with college football,” said Lee Fitting, ESPN senior coordinating producer said in a statement. “Desmond has been a key part of our College GameDay family for over 10 years, and will be into the foreseeable future. Desmond has established himself as a respected analyst, and know he is going to continue to deliver honest and thoughtful opinions elevating our college football coverage.”

College GameDay will kickoff its 2017 show at Alabama vs. FSU, Lee Corso said earlier this off-season.
