When the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays open the World Series at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas on Tuesday, both rosters will contain several players that played collegiately at SEC programs.

For the Dodgers, pitchers Walker Buehler and Alex Wood should both play a key role. Buehler, in line to start at least one game of the best-of-7 series, is a former Vanderbilt hurler, while Wood starred at Georgia.

The Rays, in search of their first championship, have 3 SEC alumni in their ranks. Right-hander Peter Fairbanks played for Missouri, outfielder Hunter Renfroe is a former Mississippi State standout, while catcher Mike Zunino played in 3 straight College World Series with Florida between 2010-2012.

First pitch of Game 1 of the 2020 World Series is set for 8:11 pm ET on Tuesday, with Game 2 starting at 8:08 pm ET. Both the Rays and Dodgers needed the full 7 games to advance out of their respective League Championship Series.
