College football fans in Ireland have already experienced a taste of American college football, and organizers in Dublin are planning several more in the coming years.

Notre Dame played Navy in 2012, and Boston College and Georgia Tech met there in 2016, but recently a new five-game series has been scheduled to take place by 2024. TheJournal.ie reported that Navy-Notre Dame will play on August 29, 2020. The four additional games have not been confirmed.

Organizers said they expect the five-game series would bring 250 million to the economy, and when Notre Dame and Navy met, it pulled in 35,000 fans.

Prime Minister Leo Varadkar said he’s looking forward to welcoming American football fans.

“This is a long-term partnership with U.S. college football,” he said. “We want to see it continue long into the future. I believe the series will capture the imagination of football fans in both countries.”
