ESPN names college football's top 10 defensive trios
There are going to be some nasty hits coming from SEC defenders this upcoming season.
ESPN Insider Travis Haney put together his list ($) for college football’s top 10 defensive triplets, selecting programs with the best trio of players at each level: a lineman, a linebacker and a defensive back.
As you might have imagined, the SEC is well represented. But what might raise an eyebrow or two is just how dominant it is — the top five teams listed come from the south. Check it out:
1. LSU: Lewis Neal (DE), Arden Key (LB), Jamal Adams (S)
2. Alabama: Jonathan Allen (DE), Tim Williams (LB), Eddie Jackson (S)
3. Texas A&M: Myles Garrett (DE), Shaan Washington (LB), Armani Watts (S)
4. Tennessee: Derek Barnett (DE), Darrin Kirkland, Jr. (LB), Cameron Sutton (CB)
5. Florida: Cece Jefferson (DE), Jarrad Davis (LB), Jalen Tabor (CB)
