Heading into Week 9, the SEC still has two undefeated teams — Alabama and Georgia.

However, while ESPN’s Football Power Index likes the Crimson Tide, it isn’t sold on the Bulldogs just yet.

After Week 8’s action, Alabama is No. 1 in the FPI rankings, while Georgia is all the way down at No. 8 in the updated list of teams, which can be found here.

Big games are on the horizon for both schools, so there will be plenty of time for them to pick up signature wins, but for now, the Bulldogs probably have some beef with the FPI.

Outside of those two programs, the SEC also has Auburn, Mississippi State and LSU in the top 25, but from there it’s a mixed bag, as you can see below:

  • No. 1 — Alabama
  • No. 8 — Georgia
  • No. 9 — Auburn
  • No. 18 — Mississippi State
  • No. 22 — LSU
  • No. 29 — Florida
  • No. 33 — South Carolina
  • No. 35 — Texas A&M
  • No. 52 — Tennessee
  • No. 54 — Kentucky
  • No. 58 — Ole Miss
  • No. 65 — Arkansas
  • No. 70 — Mizzou
  • No. 75 — Vanderbilt

With more big SEC games next weekend, it’ll be interesting to see which teams rise and which teams fall at this time next week.

With a game against Florida, Georgia has a chance to make a statement to the FPI on Saturday.
