Fans react to Texas A&M and LSU's drops in the second College Football Playoff rankings
When the second College Football Playoff came out on Tuesday night, the SEC standings were notable for a couple of precipitous drops.
After losing 10-0 to No. 1 Alabama, LSU dropped 11 spots to No. 24. Meanwhile, despite losing to a 4-5 Mississippi State team, Texas A&M only fell four spots to No. 8:
#SEC teams in the CFB Playoff Rankings.
1. Alabama (1)
8. Texas A&M (4)
9. Auburn (9)
24. LSU (13)
25. Arkansas (NR)

Fans were understandably confused, especially since the Aggies lost star QB Trevor Knight for the season in the loss to Mississippi State:
Wait, how did LSU drop 11 spots for losing to #1 Bama, yet Texas A&M dropped only 4 spots for losing to a baaad Miss St. team? #CFBPlayoff

@CFBPlayoff This is the last time I look at your polls. #LSU dropping 11 spots and Texas A&M only dropping 4 is utterly ridiculous.

LSU loses to Bama and they drop like a rock. Texas A&M loses to UNRANKED Miss. State and don't even move out of Top 10… ridiculous #CFP

So LSU drops 11 spots after losing to #1 Alabama but Texas A&M only drops 4 spots for losing to Mississippi State? C'mon now CFP committee

LSU is better than Texas A&M. I am not even a SEC fan. #CFBPlayoff

So how does LSU drop 11 spots for losing to Bama, but Texas A&M only drops 4 spots for losing to Miss State? Someone care to explain?

However, some fans disagree, saying LSU was punished for being overrated in last week’s poll:
Texas A&M has a bad loss. They also have 4 wins over winning P5 teams. LSU has zero. LSU’s rank last week was the problem, not A&M.
