One might not expect Florida’s SEC Media Days delegation to guarantee any victories after going 3-5 in the conference last season with two of the victories, over Tennessee and Kentucky, won on the team’s final possession. Senior DL Cece Jefferson, however, does not lack confidence in this year’s Gators restoring the order in the SEC East.

Jefferson, after all, was a contributor on the 2015 and ’16 Gators teams that went to the SEC Championship Game. Georgia ended Florida’s reign atop the division by going 7-1 in conference play last season, including a 42-7 thumping in Jacksonville on Oct. 28.

While congratulating Georgia on winning division and conference titles, Jefferson also made a prediction that is sure to get the attention of Bulldogs fans.

“First off, hats off to Georgia on a great season…when we beat them this year it’s going to feel good,” Jefferson told Graham Hall of the Gainesville Sun.

Gators fans can appreciate the confidence Jefferson has in this year’s team, but the quote will almost certainly become bulletin board material in Athens.

Florida and Georgia will meet in Jacksonville on Oct. 27.
