Florida State's defense being chastised on Twitter as team struggles to handle Louisville
Florida State had preseason hopes of advancing to the College Football Playoff and winning its first title of the Playoff era entering the 2017 season. A 24-7 loss in Atlanta to Alabama was a minor setback for the Seminoles that was compounded when you factor in the loss of starting QB Deondre Francois.
Following that tough loss to open the season, things have since gone sideways for Jimbo Fisher’s team. Losses to N.C. State and Miami make any dreams of an ACC title look like a pipe dream with a date against Clemson still on the schedule. Making matters worse, FSU is losing at home to Louisville by two scores entering the fourth quarter.
Every season, there’s at least one top-ranked team that falls off the face of the earth. This year, that team looks to be FSU. If the Seminoles drop their Week 8 game to Louisville, bowl eligibility may have to be won in Gainesville Nov. 25.
Here’s a sampling of some of the reactions around college football to FSU’s struggles:

FSU, the nation’s most overrated program at the moment, appears headed for its 10th loss in last 24 games against FBS teams

They have four top-five recruiting classes on campus. They have enough talent to be better than this. https://t.co/Ul454Ziewp

Florida State's defense is a myth.

Florida needs a new offensive coordinator; Florida State needs a new defensive coordinator.

I am glad that @cfb_professor and I added a new tier to NC Contender. Coordinator grades. Fsu off the list before the first game
