Joel Klatt didn’t include any SEC quarterbacks in his ranking of the top five QBs in the nation this season. But that doesn’t mean the FOX Sports analyst isn’t impressed with the quarterbacks in the SEC.

In fact, it’s quite the opposite. On Twitter on Wednesday, Klatt heralded the SEC as the “best QB conference in America this season.” Klatt then went on to rank the top five quarterbacks in the conference this season.

Here are Klatt’s top five SEC QBs for 2018:

  1. Nick Fitzgerald, Mississippi State
  2. Drew Lock, Missouri
  3. Jarrett Stidham, Auburn
  4. Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama
  5. Jake Fromm, Georgia

Although none of those quarterback’s made Klatt’s overall top five, he said that all of them ranked in the top 10-12 QBs in the nation. He called Fitzgerald the “hardest omission” from his top five.

Here are the five quarterbacks that Klatt ranked as the best in the country overall this season:

  1. Justin Herbert, Oregon
  2. Will Grier, West Virginia
  3. Trace McSorley, Penn State
  4. Khalil Tate, Arizona
  5. McKenzie Milton, UCF

Perhaps if Fitzgerald or one of the other top SEC quarterbacks get off to a strong start this season, then Klatt will change his mind and move them up into his top five.
