According to Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher, he’s not taking the open coaching job at Georgia.

Orlando Sentinel columnist Mike Bianchi wanted to put an end to the rumors and asked Fisher on his Open Mike radio show to confirm that he’s not thinking about a move to Athens and is staying in Tallahassee.

“You’re exactly right,” Fisher told Bianchi. “I’m staying right here at Florida State.”

Fisher and LSU were also rumored to have interest in one another when Les Miles’ job seemed to be in jeopardy, but Fisher made it clear that he’s happy with where he’s at.

“There is no doubt I do (have one of the best jobs in America),” Fisher told Bianchi on Tuesday. “This is a tremendous place. The Florida State people have been wonderful. This is a great place to live, a great place to coach; we’ve got great players, great tradition and great history. This is a tremendous job and a heckuva place. I love it here.

“All those other places (LSU, Georgia, etc.) are great, but this is just as good.”
