John Calipari gives cryptic response when asked about player availability for Wednesday's game vs. Mizzou
The Kentucky Wildcats had their game against No. 5 Texas canceled on Saturday, missing out on the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.
Then, they had their game against Mizzou, originally scheduled for Tuesday night, pushed back until Wednesday due to COVID-19 issues.
On Tuesday, coach John Calipari was asked how many players would miss Wednesday’s game with COVID issues, but he gave a rather cryptic response:
Calipari asked if everyone available tomorrow at Mizzou, odd answer:
"If not, it won't be because of COVID."

When asked to clarify that comment, Calipari didn’t exactly do that. He said there’s nothing COVID-related, but wouldn’t say everyone would be available:
I tried to clarify with Calipari how many available tomorrow:
“At this point, I don’t know. But I think it’ll be most of the guys. I don’t think it’ll be like five guys or six guys. As we speak right now, there’s nothing COVID-related.”

So, if COVID issues aren’t keeping players out, what would? The speculation will continue until tipoff at 7 p.m. Eastern time tomorrow night, it seems.
