A 2-4 start usually isn’t very good, but when you consider that the Kansas Jayhawks went 3-33 from 2015 to 2017, a 2-4 start is actually a huge step up.
However, it wasn’t enough for OC Doug Meachem to keep his job, as he was relieved of his duties on Wednesday evening.
As you can see below in a release from Kansas, head coach David Beaty will take over play-calling duties for the rest of the season:

“I appreciate Doug and all the work he put in during his time at Kansas,” Beaty’s statement reads. “None of us are satisfied with the progress we are making on the offensive side of the ball. We hope that with this change we are better able to put our players in the best position to be successful.”
The Jayhawks are on a bye this week before traveling to Lubbock to take on Texas Tech next weekend. We’ll see if this change helps.
