The Associated Press has announced its All-SEC team following the latest season of SEC football.

Georgia and Auburn capped the remarkable season with a battle in the SEC Championship Game Saturday evening. The Bulldogs would come out on top 28-7 and punched a ticket to the College Football Playoff in the process. On the other hand, Auburn’s loss dropped the Tigers out of the running for the national championship after a remarkable run over the final month of the season.

The two teams were definitely among the most talented in the conference, and the Bulldogs and Tigers split the top two awards from the AP. Georgia LB Roquan Smith was named the Defensive Player of the Year while Auburn RB Kerryon Johnson was named Offensive Player of the Year. Smith was also the MVP of the SEC Championship and received this year’s Butkus Award.

The accolades for the two teams did not end there. Kirby Smart was named Head Coach of the Year after winning the SEC Championship in his second season with the Bulldogs. Georgia freshman QB Jake Fromm and Auburn QB Jarrett Stidham, who played his first year in the SEC after transferring from Baylor, shared the Newcomer of the Year award.
