Former Georgia coach Mark Richt will land another power-conference job this month, if he wants to continue coaching.

According to numerous reports, Richt spent Tuesday in Miami interviewing for the Hurricanes’ vacant position. One beat writer even suggested that the job would be his, if he decided he wanted it.

Now, ESPN’s Mark Schlabach is reporting that Richt will interview at Virginia.

Richt, who won 145 games in 15 years at Georgia, will have options. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “about five” schools contacted Richt on Monday, he admitted on his radio show.

One of those appears to have been Missouri.

Richt also has been connected to the Maryland job. It’s unclear if he’d have interest in the Terrapins, but that’s likely one of the schools that has attempted to gauge his interest.

“In the past 15 years if I’ve had a headhunter call me and say: ‘Are you interested in this job, are you interested in that job, or whatever job that may be, it’s always been a real simple answer for me, to say no, this is where I want to be,” Richt said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“Now I’m losing the opportunity to be the coach at Georgia I think it’s at least respectful to listen to what they have to say, and just try to decide what’s in the best interest of my family, and not even so much that, but just try to be obedient into what God’s got in store for me. So that’s kind of where I’m at.”
