There are several SEC coaches already on the hot seat, and two of them will square off in Dallas on Saturday when Texas A&M and Arkansas meet at AT&T Stadium.

For Bret Bielema’s 1-1 Razorbacks and Kevin Sumlin’s 2-1 Aggies, getting off to a 1-0 start in SEC play will be very important, as both risk losing their jobs after (or during) this season.

On Wednesday, SEC Network analyst Matt Stinchcomb spoke to the Arkansas Touchdown Club, saying he thinks Saturday’s game could be a defining one for the Bielema era at Arkansas (via WholeHogSports.com):

“I think it’s a turning point game for the two teams,” he said. “It could be a turning point for the Bret Bielema era at Arkansas, his most pivotal game. Arkansas having more time to prepare might really help. Having more time to prepare might be very important to this game.

“If Arkansas can throw the ball a little better, that could really help the running game. Getting Jared Cornelius healthy at wide receiver could really help Austin Allen. He’s a known commodity.”

Whichever coach picks up a win on Saturday will take a little heat off themselves (at least temporarily) and improve to 1-0 in SEC play, while the other will hear plenty of calls for them to lose their job.
