Media reacts to final College Football Playoff Top 4
There wasn’t much drama surrounding the Sunday reveal of the College Football Playoff selection committee’s field of four. After conference championship games, it was clear to the vast majority of CFB observers that the top four would involve LSU, Ohio State, Clemson and Oklahoma. Whether the Tigers would move back up to No. 1 was arguably the biggest pre-reveal debate. Now that it has been settled, we know LSU will face Oklahoma in the Peach Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where the Tigers just defeated Georgia for the SEC Championship.
With the field of four revealed, media members shared their instant reactions to the rankings and some early thoughts on the upcoming games:

I would have kept Ohio State at No. 1, but I've gotta say … aesthetically, I think I preferred LSU-OU and OSU-Clemson.

Note: Jalen Hurts has never lost to LSU https://t.co/3AzrNj0trS

The committee clearly follows my feed. Glad they made the right decision and gave LSU the No. 1 seed. They deserve it. https://t.co/B1PkfUAP86

Well done @CFBPlayoff, you nailed it.

The CFP committee got it right. I credit R.C. Slocum's influence.

Ok friends… what do we think? Did the committee get this right?
1. LSU
2. Ohio St
3. Clemson
4. OklahomaIt’s how I would have ranked them too.

With no Alabama in the field, guessing Ohio State is the big TV draw so ESPN puts Peach Bowl between LSU-Oklahoma at 4pm and Ohio State-Clemson at 8pm.

They don't announce the kickoff times for another hour but I think you can book
LSU-Oklahoma 4 pm ET
Ohio State-Clemson 8 pm ET— Stewart Mandel (@slmandel) December 8, 2019

That Clemson-OSU semi deserves better than Glendale.

Have to assume LSU-Oklahoma will be the 4PM ET kick with OSU-Clemson following at 8PM ET.

The Tiger Bowl for the trophy will be an epic one IMO.
Not to mention Dabo and O leading up to it…#CFBPlayoff

Don’t underestimate Jalen Hurts in the Benz.
— Joseph Goodman (@JoeGoodmanJr) December 8, 2019
I agree with the committee.

3 of the Top 4 teams in the #CFPRankings also currently have a class ranked within the top 5 for the 2020 cycle
Ohio State #2
LSU #3
Clemson #4Oklahoma's '20 class is currently ranked #11https://t.co/De0cjwBqOS

After all this chatter about No. 1, it’ll probably end up Oklahoma vs. Clemson for national title. Regardless, all these games have epic potential. Should be fun.

In the Peach Bowl semifinal, we'll have a battle of offenses.#LSU's Steve Ensminger/Joe Brady/Joe Burrow: No. 3 scoring offense (47.8 ppg)
Oklahoma's Lincoln Riley/Jalen Hurts: No. 5 scoring offense (43.2 ppg). https://t.co/jiVLj75zaz

Oh, your team still has another 3 hours of espn punditry to wait through to find out which lesser bowl you're in? Couldn't be us.
— PodKATT (@valleyshook) December 8, 2019
Ohio State – Clemson will be SO GOOD
— Mark Passwaters (@mbpRivals) December 8, 2019
I don’t agree with how the Playoff Committee did it but yeah LSU should be No. 1. Ohio State shouldn’t have dropped just because of last night tbh but whatever
— Robby Donoho III (@RobbyDonoho) December 8, 2019
For the first time, maybe ever, the committee got it right.

I expect LSU-Clemson for the title in New Orleans. But LSU-Ohio State would also be a lot of fun.

The Trevor Lawrence/Clemson WRs vs. Ohio State secondary matchup is where it’s at this CFP.
