No surprise, the first few episodes of the Michael Jordan/Chicago Bulls documentary was a hit for ESPN.

According to the network, “The Last Dance” shattered ESPN’s viewership record for a 30 for 30 documentary shown on the network.

ESPN has announced that the show received 6.1 million viewers for the first two episodes of the series, which aired Sunday evening. The previous record for the most viewers for an original ESPN program was 3.6 million that tuned in for the Bo Jackson story, “You Don’t Know Bo” back in 2012.

Five markets stood out as the ones that watched “The Last Dance” on Sunday: Chicago (12.1 rating), Raleigh-Durham (6.5 rating), Norfolk (4.9 rating), Charlotte (4.7 rating), Greensboro (4.7 rating).

The next two episodes of the series are set to air starting on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.
