Washington State coach Mike Leach is one of the best coaches in the business, both on the field and when you put a microphone in front of him.

Therefore, his press conference was a must-see at Pac-12 Media Day on Wednesday, and the Wazzu head coach didn’t disappoint.

In stark contrast to Jeremy Pruitt’s lengthy 21-minute filibuster, Leach only used three words before opening the floor to questions:

Then, the first question asked him how much prep he did for Media Day. Another classic Leach response followed (via ASAPSports):

Q. How much did you prep for media day?
MIKE LEACH: I didn’t do any. Got to do too much, you’re making it up. No, showed up, got to town. Then, of course, the other thing with regard to your team and the players and whatnot, you’re kind of living it every day. You pretty well know.

It’s not like he didn’t give good answers, though. As the press conference went on, he gave some insight into his program. He just didn’t sit down and start going through his depth chart like other coaches do.

Never change, Mike.
