The SEC sent out an official statement this afternoon regarding the actions of Mississippi State senior center Dillon Day this past Saturday against LSU.

Per the release, SEC commissioner Mike Slive announced that Day will be suspended for Mississippi State’s next game, which is against Texas A&M. After a bye this week, the Bulldogs will play the Aggies on Oct. 4 in Starkville, Miss.

According to the SEC, the suspension is “the result of multiple flagrant and unsportsmanlike acts during the game, as well as previous disciplinary action for similar behavior.”

Yesterday, Day denied any intent to stomp on any LSU players during Saturday’s game via a tweet of a letter he wrote to Mississippi State fans. He is the starting center for the Bulldogs.
