Rashan Gary, the No. 1 recruit in the nation, has narrowed the list of schools he’s considering. Many of the schools remaining play in the SEC.

Gary, a 6-foot-4, 311-pound defensive tackle from Paramus (N.J.) Catholic, has already taken official visits to Auburn and Michigan. On Friday night, he said Ole Miss, Georgia, LSU and Alabama are among the other schools he is considering. He is also looking at Clemson, Notre Dame and USC.

Gary plans to take one official visit in December and his last two visits in January. He had planned to announce his commitment at the Under Armour All-America game on Jan. 2, but now he may wait until National Signing Day to make his announcement.

LSU defensive line coach Ed Orgeron attended Gary’s game on Friday against IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., and Gary admitted he was impressed to see the LSU assistant there.
