For AP Top 25 voters, we’ve got good news and bad news. Good news: Nos. 1-6 won on Saturday. Bad news: there are a lot of changes to be made elsewhere.

The first big question: What to do with Coastal Carolina? The AP voters had BYU at No. 8 ahead of Miami, Indiana and Georgia. Coastal Carolina now has a more impressive win than any of those teams by downing the Cougars 22-17, but can voters really bring themselves to put Coastal Carolina at No. 8? It’s hard to see the voters putting a young program in the Top 10, even if the Chants deserve to take BYU’s old spot.

AP voters tend to favor the teams who have positive momentum. Judging by voters’ past behavior, three-loss teams like North Carolina and Texas will re-enter the Top 25 while Oklahoma State will get bounced for taking a third loss.

Wisconsin dropped to 2-2 with a loss to Indiana. Falling from No. 18 to unranked because of a loss to No. 10 seems harsh on the surface, but can a .500 team really be ranked in December?

As for Marshall, it’s only the Thundering Herd’s first loss of the season, but 20-0 at home to a 1-2 Rice team is bad enough to get you bounced from the Top 25.

Back-to-back losses for Oregon will probably get the 3-2 Ducks bounced in favor of NC State.
