NFL rules on suspension appeals by Myles Garrett, Maurkice Pouncey from Steelers-Browns brawl
The NFL has ruled on suspension appeals from the Pittsburgh-Cleveland Thursday Night brawl.
Cleveland Browns DL Myles Garrett remains suspended indefinitely, at least for the remainder of the regular season and any playoff games for his team. The former Texas A&M Aggie hit Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mason Rudolph with his helmet late in last Thursday’s game. In his appeal, Garrett claimed that Rudolph called him a racial slur.
Pittsburgh Steelers OL Maurkice Pouncey saw his suspension reduced from three games to two games. Following the hit from Garrett on Rudolph, Pouncey tackled, punched and kicked Garrett while he was on the ground. After the game, the former Florida standout said that he blacked out and was protecting his quarterback.
It just so happens that the Steelers and Browns are set to meet again on Dec. 1. Pouncey (and obviously Garrett) will not be playing in the game.
Maurkice Pouncey’s suspension has been reduced from 3 games to 2 games.
Myles Garrett’s indefinite suspension has been upheld.
