Though things haven’t been going well for the Tennessee Volunteers this season, RB John Kelly has been a bright spot.

Kelly has run for more than 500 yards and also has 250 receiving yards through the Vols’ first six games, but he’ll face his toughest test of the year on Saturday against No. 1 Alabama.

Still, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban isn’t taking the dual-threat running back lightly, heaping praise on Kelly and saying he’s one of the most dynamic players Alabama has faced all year (via 247Sports):

“I think he’s a really dynamic player,” Saban said during his appearance on Wednesday’s SEC coaches teleconference. “And I think he’s one of the best running backs in the SEC.

“I think they do a great job of utilizing him, not only as a runner, but he’s an outstanding receiver as well. He’s probably the most productive offensive player that we’ve seen to this point, especially at his position.”

At 7-0, Alabama shouldn’t have too much trouble with the struggling Vols, but Saban’s defense will have its hands full trying to contain the explosive Kelly.

The Crimson Tide host the Vols on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. Central time. The game can be seen on CBS.
