On the eve of the first Saturday in college football, here’s one bold prediction for every SEC game:

Louisiana Monroe at Georgia — Newly-named starting quarterback Greyson Lambert leads several touchdown drives in the first half during his first start with help from Nick Chubb, Sony Michel and Malcolm Mitchell. Second-teamer Brice Ramsey warms up for mop-up duty in the second half with the Bulldogs nursing a 31-point lead at intermission.

Tennessee-Martin at Ole Miss — One of the SEC’s top-ranked defenses flexes its muscles early, limiting the Skyhawks to less than 100 total yards for the game during an emphatic thumping. Robert Nkemdiche contributes two sacks and the Rebels score on defense to overshadow Chad Kelly’s debut.

UTEP at Arkansas — Brandon Allen throws less than 15 passes, the Razorbacks rush for more than 300 yards and an underrated Arkansas defense run away from the visiting Miners.

Louisville vs. Auburn (Atlanta) — In a closer-than-the-experts-think matchup inside the Georgia Dome, Jeremy Johnson overcomes two interceptions and faulty play from Auburn’s defense in Will Muschamp’s first game to win an enjoyable shootout for viewers, but not so much Tiger fans.

Southeast Missouri State at Mizzou — Charles Harris makes us forget about Shane Ray and Markus Golden with a three-sack explosion against a team that won’t be able to handle the Tigers’ pass rush.

Bowling Green at Tennessee — Alvin Kamara hits the 100-yard mark and true freshman quarterback-turned-receiver Jauan Jennings finds the end zone for one of Joshua Dobbs’ two touchdown passes.

Arizona State at Texas A&M (Houston) — The Sun Devils’ oft-blitzing defense forces the issue and makes the Aggies pay during the SEC’s lone loss Saturday.

Louisiana Lafayette at Kentucky — En route to a 3,000-yard season, quarterback Patrick Towles helps offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson flourish in his debut with 350 yards and four touchdowns through the air.

McNeese State at LSU — Leonard Fournette manages 10 carries for 100 yards, Brandon Harris hooks up with Travin Dural for two scores and the Tigers’ new-look defense under Kevin Steele keeps McNeese State out of the end zone.

New Mexico State at Florida — Shaky in his debut, redshirt freshman Will Grier splits time with Treon Harris and the Gators struggle to score in Week 1’s least desirable game from a viewer’s perspective.

Wisconsin vs. Alabama (Arlington) — Junior running back Derrick Henry posts his fourth career 100-yard effort on turf (peep the numbers, he’s fantastic indoors) and the Crimson Tide aren’t hurt by playing multiple quarterbacks against a defense that can’t match Alabama’s speed.

Mississippi State at Southern Miss — Late kickoff or not, don’t expect the Bulldogs to sleepwalk through their opener. A fierce running game without Josh Robinson debuts in furious fashion as Mississippi State rolls with more than 500 yards of total offense.
