Could one-loss SEC team make CFP over undefeated Baylor?
If four Power 5 conference champions finish undefeated, most people would assume that those teams would be named to the final four by the College Football Playoff committee.
Not necessarily says CBS Sports senior writer Jerry Palm, who believes that a one-loss SEC or Big Ten team could steal the fourth spot from Baylor, even if the Bears win the Big 12:
.@jppalmCBS says an UNDEFEATED Baylor team may be left out of the @CFBPlayoff for a 1-loss loser of #TAMUvsBAMA or #MICHvsOSU

While Baylor (6-0) is currently undefeated, and ranked in the top 10 (No. 8 in the Coaches Poll and No. 9 by the Associated Press) the Bears have faced weak competition:
Overall opponent record:
Ala 26-21
OhSt 18-20
Mich 21-18
Clem 27-15

Wash 14-23

Neb 15-22
Baylor 8-26
WVU 17-14
Tenn 34-11— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) October 17, 2016
Palm recently ranked Baylor the No. 9 most likely team to make the final four, behind undefeated SEC teams Alabama (No. 2) and Texas A&M (No. 4), but ahead of one-loss Florida (No. 12).
