The biggest upset in college football this year happened in Norman, where the No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners fell at home to an unranked Iowa State team using its backup and third-string quarterbacks.

Now, Oklahoma’s big win over Ohio State in Week 2 has been forgotten, as the Sooners try to pick up the pieces of their shattered College Football Playoff dreams.

In Lincoln Riley’s first year as Oklahoma’s head coach after taking over for Bob Stoops, this was a disastrous game. And, to add insult to injury, it’s earned him a new nickname from ESPN host Paul Finebaum.

According to 247Sports, Finebaum called Riley “Little Game Lincoln” on Sunday’s SportsCenter — a reference to Stoops’s “Big Game Bob” nickname.

Finebaum called Stoops “Big Game Bob” because of his tendency to lose games against tough opponents. Apparently, the ESPN host thinks Riley’s tenure will be the opposite of his predecessor’s.

Ironically, Saturday’s game was the first Oklahoma game that Stoops didn’t attend for nearly 20 years.
