Week 10 had some surprises. What does it change in terms of your team’s potential record? Glad you asked. For the teams at the top, probably not much. For the teams at the bottom, well, we’re projecting five SEC teams to end up not meeting the normal bowl eligibility requirements. Here’s our 2017 season predictions … after Week 10.

SEC West

Alabama: 12-0

More concerned about the Iron Bowl than a few weeks ago, but still hard to pick against the Tide. Won’t do it until they lose.

Arkansas: 5-7

Mizzou or maybe their home game with Mississippi State could be a win. But there’s a much better shot at 4-8 than at 6-6.

Auburn: 8-4

Just hard to forecast wins over Georgia or Bama. Could well nab one or the other. But until we see it, eight wins in the ceiling.

LSU: 9-3

The Tigers looks likely to sweep from here out, although we could be giving too much credit to a very up-and-down team.

Mississippi State: 9-3

The Bulldogs should win at Arkansas and probably in the Egg Bowl. Not going to beat Alabama.

Ole Miss: 6-6

Suddenly, it feels like they get that sixth win — either at home against A&M or (less likely) in the Egg Bowl.

Texas A&M: 7-5

We’re leaning toward seven wins, although six is very plausible. That game at Ole Miss could go either way.

SEC East

Florida: 5-6

Even weirder than Florida and Florida State playing for a bowl bid, how about a Florida-Florida State game in which neither team can make a bowl? We’re seeing it that way.

Georgia: 12-0

If the Bulldogs can survive Auburn next week, they shouldn’t have much trouble with Kentucky and Georgia Tech.

Kentucky: 7-5

Two weeks ago, we said Kentucky had a great shot at the trio of Tennessee, Ole Miss and Vandy, and would probably win two of them. They need to beat Vandy to make that happen, which it could. Don’t rule out a win over Louisville too/instead.

Missouri: 6-6

Tennessee, Vandy and Arkansas remain on the schedule. Each game is like an elimination match of “Who wants to make a bowl?” Two out of three looks like a reasonable goal.

South Carolina: 8-4

Take it to the bank. Second in the East is a fine season for Carolina.

Tennessee: 5-7

Hard to imagine UT beating both Missouri and Vandy, as both are bowl-hungry teams and both are playing better than UT. We’ll guess they beat one, but not both, and lose to LSU.

Vanderbilt 5-7

Kentucky, Mizzou, and Tennessee are left for Vandy. It feels like they’ll only get one of those games. If it is UT, the Vandy fan base would probably be fine with that, especially with an APR score that could land a bowl bid at 5-7, anyway.
