ESPN's early All-American list for 2019 features several SEC standouts
Several early preseason top 25 lists for the 2019 season have begun to make the rounds online but ESPN just took the 2019 prognostications a step further by making a list of All-Americans for the 2019 season. Not preseason All-Americans, but players that would be featured in that spot by season’s end.
It’s a bold step to take but one that you knew had to feature plenty of SEC standouts if it wanted to be given any credibility. One note, Tua Tagovailoa didn’t make the list. Instead, ESPN went with Trevor Lawrence at the quarterback position.
Here are the SEC players that made the list over at ESPN.com:
WR: Jerry Jeudy, Alabama
TE: Albert Okwuegbunam, Missouri
OG: Alex Leatherwood, Alabama
OT: Andrew Thomas, Georgia
LB: Terrell Lewis, Alabama
S: Grant Delpit, LSU
P: Braden Mann, Texas A&M
Do you agree with those selections?
It would be nice if Bama can get a D lineman on this list at seasons end.
Also, Jonah Williams was dogs*t at the end of the year..Don’t think he will be missed.
Tua?
Hard to fault them for putting Trevor Lawrence on the list over Tua – splitting hairs basically.
Love that Albert O came back and nice to see some recognition. Now if he can stay healthy all year he should live up to it.
Grant Delpit, definitely. Too early to put any other LSU players on the list, but Kristian Fulton might make it by season’s end.
CBS just did a list of the top 32 draft eligible players for next season. Delpit, Fulton, and Rashard Lawrence were all on it.
