If you needed any more proof that the SEC is going to be deep this year, the preseason All-SEC first team should take care of that for you.

On Wednesday, the team was announced, and five players from five different squads were named to the first team.

As you can see below, Arkansas’s Daniel Gafford, Kentucky’s Reid Travis, LSU’s Tremont Waters, South Carolina’s Chris Silva and Tennessee’s Grant Williams were honored on Wednesday:

Williams, a junior, was also named the SEC’s preseason Player of the Year — a big honor for the Vols’ big man.

With tipoff just around the corner, we’ll see how these guys fare. Will they be the postseason All-SEC first team as well, or will some newcomers make names for themselves this winter?
