With the 2017 NFL Draft recently completed and a majority of the 2013 recruiting class a major part of it, here’s a look back at each team in the SEC West and what players were most impactful, good and bad, from that class.

Alabama

Boom: Jonathan Allen, OLB – With plenty of booms to choose from, we took Allen over  Reuben Foster, Derrick Henry, O.J. Howard and A’Shawn Robinson. The 5-star Allen was drafted 17th overall by the Redskins as a defensive end.

Bust: Alvin Kamara, RB – A 4-star recruit according to 247sports.com, Kamara began a troubled college career at Alabama. After injuries and a suspension, he transferred to junior college and then to Tennessee, where he started only eight games. However, the talented back was still drafted in the third round by the Saints this year.

Arkansas

Boom: Hunter Henry, TE – The 4-star recruit excelled at Arkansas and was chosen in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Chargers. The John Mackey Award winner caught eight TD passes in his debut NFL season.

Bust: AJ Derby, QB – The 3-star JUCO transfer played just one season at Arkansas, throwing for 178 yards and one touchdown in 2013. He was drafted by the Patriots in 2015 as a tight end and is now with Denver.

Auburn

Boom: Montravius Adams, DT – Drafted by the Packers in the third round, Adams was second on the team in both sacks (4.5) and tackles for loss (8.5) his senior year behind another candidate for this spot, Carl Lawson, who went in the fourth round to the Bengals.

Bust: Jeryl Brazil, WR – The 4-star recruit never made an impact. He was dismissed from the team, went to junior college and finished up at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.

Mississippi State

Boom: Chris Jones, DT – A second-round pick of the Chiefs in the 2016 NFL Draft, Jones left the Bulldogs after his junior season to go pro. He was the Bulldogs’ lone 5-star recruit from the 2013 class.

Bust: Jahmere Irvin-Sills, DB – A 3-star recruit, he de-committed from Auburn and played two seasons with the Bulldogs before transferring to North Dakota, where he left the team after his junior season.

Ole Miss

Bust: Justin Manning, DT – The highly-touted 4-star recruit recorded three tackles in five games in his redshirt freshman season and then eventually quit the game for medical reasons.
