Report: 2 SEC teams have reached out to transferring Villanova PG Jahvon Quinerly
During Villanova’s run in which the Wildcats won two titles in three years, they didn’t rely on players who were 5-star recruits. Instead, they developed lesser-recruited players and kept them around for multiple seasons.
However, in the 2018 recruiting class, coach Jay Wright landed 5-star PG Jahvon Quinerly from nearby New Jersey.
The 2018-19 season didn’t go well for Quinerly, though, as he failed to crack the starting lineup and averaged only 3.3 points in 24 appearances. Now, he’s on the transfer market, and a couple of SEC teams have reached out to him.
Per Jake Weingarten of StockRisers.com, Alabama and Arkansas are among the several teams to reach out to the former 5-star athlete:
Just received an updated list of schools (some of them) that have reached out to Jahvon Quinerly, a source told @Stockrisers:
Arkansas, Alabama, Pittsburgh, Oregon, Nebraska, Florida State, Colorado, and Arizona State. There are several others.

Quinerly would likely have to sit out the 2019-20 season, but he could still be a huge addition to a team, especially for the Tide and Razorbacks, who are both breaking in new coaches.
Where will he end up? He’ll have plenty of options moving forward.
