The Louisville Cardinals missed out on hiring alum Jeff Brohm to be their next head coach, but they haven’t been left empty-handed.

According to reports, after Louisville missed on the Purdue coach, they turned their attention to Appalachian State’s Scott Satterfield.

Now, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal, Satterfield will be hired as the man to replace the recently fired Bobby Petrino:

Satterfield is 51-24 in his time at Appalachian State, which dates back to the 2013 season. He’s built them into a solid Sun Belt squad, winning three straight conference titles.

Will he be able to dig Louisville out of the mess it became this year? Only time will tell.
