Recently, North Carolina suspended 13 players for selling player-exclusive sneakers online, which is a secondary violation of NCAA rules.

Now, other schools could face similar situations, with ESPN reporting on Friday night that Michigan had 23 pairs of shoes listed or sold on the StockX site.

According to The Detroit News, Michigan compliance officers are now looking into the matter:

“We are aware of the report at North Carolina,” Michigan football spokesman Dave Ablauf said via text Friday night. “Our compliance office is looking into this matter and will determine if anything needs to be reported to the NCAA.”

According to the report, various celebrities are also given pairs of the shoes, so it’s possible no players are suspended in this matter. Still, this is not good news for Michigan.

Michigan recently switched to the Jordan brand and, according to ESPN’s report, the average price of the shoes is $4,671 on the StockX market.
