Seeing that Alabama is getting set to face Michigan State in the College Football Playoff, fans in Tuscaloosa are understandably not thinking of next season too much.

However, starting quarterback Jake Coker, who transferred from Florida State, is a senior and that means there will be someone new under center for the Tide in 2016.

The school may be on the verge of adding a promising option to fill that role.

Montana State QB Dakota Prukop, one of the top players at the FCS level this season, has reportedly gotten his release from the school and is seeking to transfer to a Power 5 school. Prukop has already reportedly received scholarship offers from Michigan, Oregon and Texas.

An offer from Alabama is expected soon, according to Austin American-Statesman reporter Danny Davis.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound junior ranks in the top 10 in the FCS in many areas, including passing yards per game (275), passing TDs (28) and passing efficiency (157.7). He also ran for 797 yards and 11 TDs.

His dual-threat abilities has led to comparisons with Oregon quarterback Vernon Adams, who transferred from FCS school Eastern Washington before this season.

He’s expected to graduate from Montana State, so he’d be eligible to participate right away in spring camp if he enrolls at another school next month.
