Report reveals only 2 SEC programs have boasted 100% attendance through Week 8
Only 2 SEC programs have boasted 100% home attendance through Week 8 of the college football season, and it’s not the duo you’d expect.
Well, you might expect Georgia. The other is Kentucky, which has packed Kroger Field for its 5 home matchups against Miami (OH), Youngstown State, Northern Illinois, South Carolina and Mississippi State.
Big Blue Nation was treated to a hot start this season for the Wildcats, seeing it pay off against the No. 22 Bulldogs 2 weeks ago. Those same Wildcat fans will no doubt be hopping on I-75 and travelling the 2 hours south to Knoxville for their matchup against No. 3 Tennessee.
The Vols are one of 9 SEC programs close to Georgia and Kentucky in the attendance metrics. Those schools, minus Mississippi State, Mizzou and Vanderbilt, are all averaging 96% attendance or better through Week 8.
Updated SEC attendance figures from the league:
11 programs averaging at least 96% stadium capacity this season.
Mississippi State (88%), Missouri (87%) and Vanderbilt (62%) are the outliers.
Georgia and Kentucky are the only programs averaging 100% capacity.

Poor Vanderbilt.
