It wasn’t a banner year for recruiting wide receivers in 2012.

The receivers the year before included Sammy Watkins, Jarvis Landry and Brandin Cooks.

But still, there were a few stars that emerged from the pack in 2012. Here’s a look at the five best receivers from the 2012 recruiting class.

1. Dorial Green Beckham: He was the best wide receiver prospect that year and has lived up to the hype. In the NFL that is. He had a strong sophomore season at Missouri but couldn’t stay out of trouble. He wasn’t allowed to play for Oklahoma after transferring. But it looks like he got his priorities straight. He had 549 yards and four touchdowns during his rookie season for the Titans.

2. Stefon Diggs: Diggs was the No.2 prospect of that class and produced in almost every way imaginable during his time at Maryland. He had 2,227 receiving yards and 14 TDs for the Terrapins and also shined as a kick returner. During his rookie season for the Vikings, Diggs had 720 yards and four TDs.

3. Deontay Greenberry: He thrived at Houston with 2,612 yards and 20 TDs. The former No.3 prospect has yet to hit the field in the NFL, but his college legacy won’t be forgotten.

4. Amari Cooper: Cooper was the No. 6 prospect in 2012, but the two before him were major busts. Chris Black (No. 4) didn’t work out at Alabama and transferred. And Texas A&M’s Thomas Johnson (No. 5) was arrested on murder charges. Cooper’s contributions for the Tide were well documented. He had a staggering 3,463 yards and 31 TDs during his career at Alabama. He also put together an impressive rookie year in the NFL with 1,070 yards and six TDs for the Raiders.

5. Aaaron Burbridge: He was the No. 9 receiver prospect in 2012, but is deserving of the five spot on this list. He’s had 1,258 yards and seven TDs during his tenure at Michigan State.
